Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a new project?

Tap "+ New" in the main project list screen. In the pop-up, you can create a song name, set the time signature, beat subdivision, and BPM (enter or tap tempo to set). Then tap the "Create" button when finished.

How do I record a track?

Create/open a project, tap the red record button in the transport bar at the bottom. By default, you'll get a 3-second countdown, then a count-in measure (amber beat dots), then recording starts (red beat dots). Tap stop when you're done. Default settings can be changed in the settings menu (tap the gear icon at the top right of the stuido screen).

How do I layer (overdub) takes?

After recording your first track, tap "+ Add Track" to create another track. Tap the record icon on a new track row to arm it, then tap the main record button. Your existing tracks will play in your ear (or through your speaker when in loudspeaker mode) while you record the next layer.

How do I export my song?

Tap the share icon at the top right of the studio screen. DoReMix mixes all tracks together and exports as a single WAV file via the iOS Share Sheet — you can save to Files, send via Messages, AirDrop, and more.

The metronome is too loud or too quiet.

Long-press the metronome icon in the transport bar to open a volume slider.

My recordings sound slightly out of time. What can I do?

Open Settings (gear icon in the studio) → Advanced → tap Calibrate. This runs a short latency calibration tailored to your device and current audio route. Re-run it if you switch between earpiece and loudspeaker.

Why can't I change the speaker route during recording?

iOS doesn't allow audio route changes while a recording session is active. Stop or pause recording first, then toggle the speaker icon.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

DoReMix is a multi-track audio recorder for iPhone. We respect your privacy and have designed the app to collect as little data as possible.

Data we collect

DoReMix does not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or share any personal data, audio recordings, or usage information. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking SDKs.

Data stored on your device

All of your audio recordings, projects, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone in the app's private storage. They are never uploaded anywhere. When you delete the app, this data is removed.

Who owns the recordings/songs you make in DoReMix?

You do. Any audio you record into DoReMix and any songs you create with it are entirely yours. DoReMix claims no ownership, license, or other rights to your recordings.

Microphone access

DoReMix requests access to your iPhone's microphone solely to record audio that you choose to record into the app. Microphone audio is written only to local files on your device. It is not transmitted to any server or third party.

Export and sharing

If you choose to export a recording (using the share button), the resulting WAV file is sent only through the iOS Share Sheet to the destination you select (such as Files, Messages, or AirDrop). DoReMix itself does not transmit your audio anywhere.

Children's privacy

DoReMix is suitable for users of all ages and does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
